Roxie Lenton is celebrating the release of her debut EP, “Chapters”, an unapologetic venture into the many facets of her emotional journey that captures different moments or “chapters” in her life. This folk-pop collection of songs explore love, toxic relationships, and mental health, with heartfelt lyrics and a blend of rhythmic and melodic instruments to help set the mood. From melancholy, to siren calls, to confessions of love, there’s a wide range of emotions and styles explored on Lenton’s debut EP.
About Roxie Lenton
Born and raised in the Canadian prairies, Saskatchewanian singer-songwriter Roxie Lenton’s lyric-driven folk-pop music captivates a broad spectrum of human emotion. Music is magic, it can change your mood in a matter of seconds and Roxie’s music wields that magic in a very vivid way. Lenton draws on a wide range of musical influences including Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, Ed Sheeran, pop-punk icons like Simple Plan and Marianas Trench, and her love of Musical Theatre.
Roxie was classically trained on piano growing up, and learned to play guitar as an adult to expand on her songwriting and performance style. Roxie has been performing as a solo artist for over a decade, accompanying her sultry vocals on both piano or guitar. Her live shows are intimate, and she wears her quirks and awkwardness with pride, endearing herself to fans.
Her experiences with mental illness, including the unfortunate stigma that comes with it (though significantly improved from what it used to be), has given Roxie an added purpose: to use her music and her story to help others who suffer from mental illness and to increase awareness and understanding on the subject. Her debut EP is bookended by songs about mental health.
"There's a vulnerability in being a musician. Not only does Regina's Roxie Lenton embrace it, she puts it on full display beautifully through her new EP, 'Chapters'. Years of raw emotion, real feelings and great folk/pop songwriting provides the footnote to this memorable 4-song debut" ~ Taron Cochrane, CBC
About Range Road Girls
Range Road Girls, formed in 2025, is the creative effort of singer/songwriter Dara Schindelka (keys, vocals) and fiddler/composer Donna Turk. Both musicians have years of experience performing and educating in the field of music and together they bring talent and timing together for a toe tapping concert filled with songs with stories and music with character. They met in 2022 at a show and over the ensuing years decided that they could carve out time in their lives to make a group come to life that would feature both their musical strengths.
Both musicians have a roster of students that they teach music to and they share their passion for playing and performing every time they step on stage. As well, Donna plays in the southern Saskatchewan band, The Tilted Kilts, as well as solo shows. Dara can also be heard in the bands Back Seat Driver and Northern Air. Special guests often join Range Road Girls, both at home and on the road, to bring the feel of the old time jam and house party right there on the stage.
Their debut album, produced by EverRising Records in Regina, Saskatchewan, features originals by both artists as well as a traditional nod to music of days gone by. “We like to share the music that inspires us as well as the stories and songs that bring our music to life.” This album will be out in 2026!
